QUAD LOGISTICS SUCCESSFULLY IMPLEMENTS QUALSOFT’s RETURNABLES CONTROL SYSTEM

Web-Based System Improves Accuracy and Efficiency; Makes Information Available Where and When Needed

OVIEDO, FL – September 3, 2003 – Quad Logistics has successfully rolled out the Qualsoft fully integrated returnable container control system enabling the company to improve the management of its rental bins. Qualsoft RCS was designed and developed specifically to meet the needs of renters of returnable containers and other returnable/reusable materials handling equipment.

RCS has allowed Quad Logistics to improve asset turns by allowing detailed visibility to the entire supply chain. The improved asset turns affords us the luxury of managing performance by customer and commodity,” said Ken Morris, President of Quad Logistics. “The improved asset turns also means less capital requirement to conduct the same level of business allowing for better return on those assets.

RCS provides access to real-time sales and asset management information throughout the supply chain, which helps Quad manage the dynamic nature of their fast-paced business from anywhere, via the web. During 2004, Quad expects to use RCS to implement a more streamlined ordering process that will allow customers to track and trace their online orders, better manage their own inventory, and utilize reports of outbound shipments to their customers.

From the very beginning of our returnable rental container business concept we viewed strict asset management as the key to our success. We needed visibility of our assets through the entire supply chain. RCS was the only product that matched every one of our initial requirements and has exceeded our expectations for managing product flow,” said Randy Allen, National Operations Manager of Quad Logistics.

Returnable/reusable materials handling equipment can lower costs, reduce product damage, improve workplace safety, improve product presentation, and lighten the load on our nation’s landfills. However, the returnable equipment fleet must be very well managed to be cost effective”, said Hal Forman, President, Qualsoft, LLC. “The management of returnable container fleets requires a tracking and control system specifically designed for this purpose. In delivering RCS to the marketplace, we’ve drawn upon many years of experience designing and supporting systems for the management and control of returnable container fleets.”
